Solvent Based Etch Primer

Solvent Based Etch Primer

R367,43

This product is a high-performance solvent-based etch primer designed for priming metal substrates, including aluminum, galvanized steel, and stainless steel. It provides superior adhesion by chemically etching the surface, ensuring better bonding with topcoats, and offers excellent corrosion protection. This primer is ideal for industrial and automotive applications, as well as other heavy-duty metal protection needs.

When to use solvent based etch primer(SB) vs water based etch primer (WB)

  • Solvent-based etch primers often provide stronger adhesion and better long-term corrosion protection under extreme conditions (e.g., industrial or marine environments). For applications exposed to harsh chemicals, abrasion, or extreme weather, solvent-based primers may offer superior performance.
  • Solvent-based etch primers can be more effective when priming metal surfaces that will be continuously exposed to high moisture or wet conditions, offering more robust protection compared to water-based primers.
  • If you’re working in a controlled environment with favourable temperatures and humidity, or on substrates in less aggressive environments, a water-based primer may be the preferred choice due to its eco-friendliness and low VOC content.
